Exam Lighting Mounting Solutions

Ideal for hospitals and medical offices that need focused light, our exam lighting mounts feature a flexible gooseneck for easy positioning.

In an exam room, clarity isn’t optional. You deliver exceptional care to your patients, so your lighting mounts need to be an asset, not a hassle.

Our exam lighting mounts feature a flexible gooseneck for easy repositioning during use. Whether you’re looking for a wall-mount or portable solution, our customizable lighting mounts can fit any application or environment.

The Challenge: Achieving Flexibility and Clarity

High-demand medical environments require precise lighting. Standard mounts can achieve consistent lighting placement, but don’t have the flexibility to adjust lighting for diverse clinical workflows. The challenge is manufacturing an exam light solution that is both precise and flexible, so you can achieve the clarity you need to provide the quality care your patient deserves.

Medical environments also need stability and flexibility. Our flexible arms offer the same stability as jointed metal arms, but reposition faster and more intuitively, adapting to different needs within the same environment without tools or effort.

Our Previous Work: Lighting That Doesn't Droop

Client: Welch Allen Exam Light

Our client approached us with a custom need for a flexible arm that could secure the exam light to a wall-mounted base and to a mobile stand unit.

The Challenge

They needed the arm to be flexible enough to easily reposition the exam light, but strong enough that the lighting would not droop or sag after consistent heavy use in hospital settings.

The Solution

Moffatt manufactured an arm assembly that balanced the client’s need for strength and flexibility. The metal gooseneck is strong enough to support the weight of the exam light over extended use, while allowing hospital staff to easily adjust the light, and the base is compatible with both their wall mounts and mobile stands.

The Outcome

The Green Series Exam Light IV was successfully manufactured, tested, and put to good use in hospitals and clinics around the country.

FAQs

What mounting options work in medical exam rooms?

Medical exam rooms benefit from flexible mounting options such as wall mounts, ceiling mounts, rail systems, and mobile floor stands. These configurations support different room layouts and clinical workflows while maximizing positioning precision for exam lighting.

Adjustable mounting solutions help clinicians place examination lights exactly where needed without disrupting patient comfort.

What weight capacity options are available for exam lighting?

Exam lighting systems are engineered to support a wide range of weight capacities, accommodating everything from compact LED medical exam lights to larger, multi-axis examination lights.

Weight limits are matched to the mounting method to ensure stability, long-term durability, and safe operation in demanding clinical environments. This flexibility supports future upgrades without redesigning the room.

Can the arms hold position during examinations without drifting?

Yes, precision-balanced arms are designed to hold their position throughout examinations without drifting or sagging. High-quality tensioning and joint mechanisms ensure smooth movement and secure placement, allowing clinicians to focus on accuracy and visibility.

This stability is critical for examinations and procedures and reduces the need for frequent repositioning.

Do your products undergo medical equipment testing?

Exam lighting components are developed with medical equipment standards in mind, including mechanical performance, durability, and safety testing. Products are validated for repeated use in clinical settings to ensure reliable performance over time.

This testing helps support compliance requirements for healthcare facilities and medical device manufacturers.
