Midmark – Ritter 253 LED Exam Light
Midmark set out to design an improved exam table for OB/GYN, podiatry, and dermatology practices.
The Challenge
Midmark’s new design required an LED exam light mounted on a flexible arm system. The arm needed to provide extended reach while remaining lightweight, quiet, and durable.
Midmark also required multiple flex arms and aluminum extensions to achieve the necessary positioning range.
The Solution
Moffatt worked closely with Midmark’s design team to develop a custom configuration.
The final solution included:
- A five-foot-long flex arm assembly
- Reinforced layers for strain relief
- Intricate CNC fittings for precision assembly
- Lightweight construction to reduce the load on the exam table
The engineering process involved collaboration with both Midmark and a specialized flex arm manufacturing partner. Prototypes were tested and refined until the system met the performance requirements.
The Results
The final design provided the exact reach and stability required for medical exam lighting. Doctors can easily reposition the light during procedures without unwanted movement or noise.
